Kent Music provide music lessons in schools and local music centres across Kent. Learning to sing or to play a musical instrument provides enormous benefits for young people in terms of their intellectual, social and emotional development. To find out more information on the social and academic benefits of music education, the role you can play in your child’s learning or for general information on lessons and ensembles, please download a copy of their Parent Guide.

Currently, individual music lessons are taking place on Zoom so that children can continue with their learning during this pandemic.

All staff who work with children and young people have a current enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure & Barring Service and there is a programme of regular child protection training for teachers.

Lessons at your school or at a Music Centre

Lessons are offered individually or in pairs and are delivered by professional musicians. We offer a wide range of instruments which is subject to the availability of teachers in your area.

Individual lessons can be tailored to the student’s needs while group lessons provide a fun and sociable way of learning a musical instrument. Lessons can work towards music examinations or simply focus on the enjoyment and accomplishment of learning to sing or to play a musical instrument. We would advise that individual beginners opt for a 20-30 minute lesson, increasing the lesson duration as they progress and small groups opt for a 30 minute lesson.

The ’Term’ relates to the ten-twelve week ‘Autumn’, ‘Spring’ and ‘Summer Terms’.
